  • I own a business; do I need an asbestos register done?

If you are a commercial building owner, by law you are required to have an asbestos register prepared and kept in the workplace. Regardless whether asbestos is assumed to be present or not, a register is required. The asbestos audit must be kept up to date, be easily accessible to others in the workplace, and if asbestos is present, a re-audit will need to take place every five years.

  • How do I know if there is asbestos in my home?

If your property was built before 1987, it will most likely contain asbestos. A sample and test from us will make sure if asbestos is present or not.

  • I think I have asbestos in my home, can I remove it myself?

If the asbestos measures less than 10 metres, you can do it yourself although we do not recommend it. A licensed asbestos removalist will make sure the job is done carefully and efficiently.

  • A builder has damaged some asbestos wall sheets in my home, can I vacuum it up?

No, you cannot. Your house will require decontamination with specialist equipment and the whole damaged wall sheet will need to be removed.
